Castello San Michele is a full renovated palace built between the 11th and 16th century. Former castel of the Condottiere Baglioni, then owned by Catherine of Medicis and by the prince of Montholon, the castle has a rich history.
The castle enjoys a stunning view on the valley as it is built on a promontory, surrounded by former walls and towers, around a quiet square. It is located at the end of a charming village with friendly bakery and grocey shops.
The castle has 12 bedbrooms and accomodates 25 persons over 3 floors.
All rooms are furnished with antique furniture and have painted ceilings.
The ground floor includes 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, 1 billiard room, 1 study, 1 large dining room, 1 living rooms and the kitchen.
The living rooms in the "Piano Nobile" recall the history of the castle and are composed of the Throne room, 2 living rooms, 3 master bedrooms and 2 bathrooms
The terrace/sundeck and veranda on the same floor are ideal for summer lunches and relaxation while enjoying the stunning view. The garden offers multiple relax options, as well as a stunning pool overlooking the Calanche Teverine
Another bedroom and small library are located on the third floor
The Corte includes 5 unique appartments of 4 to 6 persons and 1 villa, all with their own living rooms kitchen, bathrooms, and features 2 gardens with 2 pools.
The castle is located 20km south of Orvieto, 1h20mn from Rome (very accessible by train or car), and less than 1 hour from the Tarquinia sea resort, with direct access to Viterbo and its spas/hot springs (Terme dei Papi) and to the Bolsena lake. It is nested within the Valle dei Calanchi park which includes Civitella di Bagnoreggio in particular.
The Tuschia region is full of medieval villages, Roman and Estruquian ruins as well as hiking trails and Spas around the castle.
